India-Belgium Ties Get New Push as PM Modi Holds Talks with Belgian PM

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held talks with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever during his official visit to India, with both sides focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key areas.

PM Modi welcomed the Belgian Prime Minister, who is on his first official visit to India from September 2 to 4. During the joint press statement, Modi highlighted Belgium’s long-standing association with India and its important role in the Indian community and India-Belgium diamond trade.

The two countries also discussed ways to further deepen cooperation and strengthen the partnership between India and Belgium.

The visit comes at a time when India and European countries are seeking to expand economic, trade and strategic cooperation.

Prime Minister De Wever’s visit is expected to provide fresh momentum to bilateral engagement and strengthen people-to-people and business ties between the two countries.
