Jaipur : Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday flagged off the State-level Tiranga Rally under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from Albert Hall in Jaipur. The rally proceeded from Albert Hall to Badi Chaupar amid drizzling, with the Union Minister and the Chief Minister participating in the procession carrying the Tricolour in their hands. At several points along the route, residents welcomed the rally and greeted the participants with flower showers.

Addressing the Tiranga Rally, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the Tricolour is not merely the national flag, but a symbol of the country’s honour, pride and glory, as well as the sentiments of crores of Indians. He said that, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, citizens across the country hoisted the Tricolour at their homes under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in 2022, conveying the message of unity in diversity and national integrity.

He said the Tricolour should have a place in the heart of every Indian and that safeguarding its honour and dignity is the collective responsibility of all citizens.

Paying homage to martyrs-

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma paid homage to the martyrs at Amar Jawan Jyoti. They laid wreaths and paid tributes to the immortal martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherlrand.

Mr. Nadda said the Prevention of Insults to National Honours Amendment Act, 2026 is an important step towards further strengthening respect for national symbols. The National Anthem, the National Song, the National Flag and the Constitution represent the pride of India, and any insult to them cannot be tolerated, he says.

He called upon citizens to always uphold the dignity of the Tricolour and cherish the freedom secured through the sacrifices of the nation’s brave sons and freedom fighters.

Tiranga symbolises self-respect, patriotism and national pride- Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said the Tricolour is a symbol of self-respect, patriotism and national pride. He said the Tiranga Yatra, launched under the Amrit Mahotsav initiative under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has evolved into a people’s movement and is serving as a means of strengthening patriotic sentiment among the younger generation.

He said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign brings the entire country together in a common thread of unity. The Tricolour fluttering from every home is an expression of the people’s love and commitment towards the nation. However, its honour should reside not only in our homes but also in our hearts, he says.

The true significance of the campaign, he adds, lies in translating the ideals and values of national consciousness into our everyday lives.

Tiranga reaches our hands through sacrifice and penance- The Chief Minister said the country will celebrates the 80th anniversary of Independence on August 15 this year. The occasion provides an opportunity to pay homage to the brave martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed everything for the country’s independence. It is because of their sacrifice and penance that the Tricolour is in the hands of every Indian today, he says.

He said the Tricolour symbolises the ideals of the Constitution, unity, integrity and social harmony.

Mr. Sharma said the Tricolour has a deep connection with Rajasthan. He recalled that the Tricolour hoisted for the first time on August 15 was made in Rajasthan. Recalling moments from his student days, he said groups of students would walk through the streets carrying the Tricolour and singing the patriotic song, “Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara, Jhanda Uncha Rahe Hamara.”

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has witnessed unprecedented transformation, ranging from welfare schemes for the poor to the elimination of terrorism and Left-Wing Extremism and India’s growing stature in the world. Today’s New India is capable of giving a befitting response to its adversaries, he said.

He said the State Government has been working for the past two and a half years guided by the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”. The State Government is committed to ensuring the upliftment of the person standing at the last mile, he added.

Rajya Sabha MP Madan Rathore expressed gratitude to all those who participated in the Tiranga Yatra.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Radhamohan Das Agarwal, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, besides a large number of public representatives and citizens, were present on the occasion.
