Mumbai, April 25, 2025– The tragic terrorist attack that struck Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir on April 22, 2025, left the nation mourning the loss of innocent lives. Civilians, security personnel, and tourists became victims of a senseless act of violence that shook the collective conscience of the country.
In a solemn gesture of respect and unwavering solidarity with the victims and their families, Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) has announced a two-minute silence to be observed on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 3:25 PM across the entire BDB campus.
At exactly 3:25 PM, a siren/hooter will sound throughout the campus to signal the beginning of the silent tribute. All members, staff, traders, and visitors are kindly requested to stand in silence at their respective places and participate in this collective moment of remembrance and honor.
On this occasion, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), issued a heartfelt statement, “This is more than a silence—it is a symbol of unity, resilience, and respect. The martyrs of Pahalgam laid down their lives not just for a place on the map, but for the soul of this nation. It is our duty to pause, reflect, and honor their courage in the face of terror.”
Mr. Bhansali emphasized that this initiative aims not only to pay homage but to inspire a deeper sense of national unity, empathy, and resolve against violence and hatred.
The BDB administration urges complete cooperation from all office units and members in observing this moment of national mourning.
Let this silence echo across every heart in the BDB—an unspoken promise that we stand together, and we shall never forget.
