Mumbai! The India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2025, the largest trade event for India’s gem and jewellery industry, commenced with grandeur on Wednesday in Mumbai. Organized by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the show brings together thousands of jewellers, designers, manufacturers, and buyers from across the globe under one roof.

This year, the scale of the event has grown significantly with dual venues—Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra-Kurla Complex and NESCO in Goregaon. The expansion reflects the increasing global influence and business potential of the Indian jewellery sector.

Formal Inauguration Ceremony

The show was officially inaugurated by Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali. The grand ceremony witnessed the presence of prominent industry leaders, trade representatives, and international guests, adding prestige to the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Rahul Narwekar said, “The gem and jewellery industry is a vital part of India’s cultural and economic heritage. Events like IIJS help showcase India’s talent, innovation, and global trade potential.”

GJEPC Chairman Kirit Bhansali stated, “IIJS 2025 is no longer just a trade show—it has transformed into a global platform. Our aim is to establish India as a world leader in the gem and jewellery sector.”

He told Mat Bahumat that this year’s edition features over 2,100 exhibitors from India and abroad, with nearly 50,000 buyers and traders expected from more than 60 countries and 800 cities.

Focus on Innovation, Design, and Global Collaboration

IIJS 2025 is highlighting the entire value chain of the jewellery industry—from gemstone cutting, mining, and manufacturing to retail. Cutting-edge technology, custom designing, and sustainable practices are being showcased. The show also provides a dedicated platform for startups and emerging designers.

Bhansali emphasized the immense business and employment opportunities that the show will unlock. He noted that trade deals worth several thousand crores are expected during the event, potentially boosting exports and generating thousands of new jobs in the sector. GJEPC believes that IIJS 2025 will serve as a milestone in India’s journey to becoming a global jewellery hub.
